There are so many variables to consider in tablet manufacturing. Let Thomas take some of those concerns off your list with our top-notch tablet coating equipment and support services.
The Quality of Your Tablet Manufacturing Process Depends on Your Equipment
For pharmaceutical manufacturers, a mountain of work goes into every tablet. Countless hours of research and medical studies are conducted to confirm effects before the tablets ever hit the shelf or go into the hands of consumers. They have to figure out the best dosage form to ensure the active ingredients have the desired effect in a human body.
The solid dosage manufacturing process is one of the final steps in the overall operation so at that point they need nothing to go wrong. Thomas Processing has been designing and manufacturing precision tablet press tooling and coating systems for over 60 years. In the past, our employees created some of the practices that have become pharmaceutical industry standards today.
We understand these struggles and the importance of a foolproof process. With our full line of Accela-Cota tablet coaters, pharmaceutical manufacturers can feel confident in the quality of the coating on their tablets. Our coaters deliver dependable uniformity and consistent performance from one batch to the next.
We’ve Made the Manufacturing of Tablets a Simpler Process
When we were developing our coaters and their components, we didn’t stop at raising their quality. The staff at Thomas also took ease of use into account with all of our designs. We know the coaters we sell are going to be used again and again. These devices had to offer resiliency and simple, intuitive operation.
We train users on how to use our equipment, but that doesn’t mean we can’t make things simpler for them. All of our coaters come with our Compu-Coat control program. The Compu-Coat controls offer operations in multiple languages, along with a customizable touchscreen and graphical user interface. Users can set up automatic batch reports to external servers, and many can hold up to a hundred recipes and thousands of batch reports in their memories.
We offer multiple types of the Compu-Coat program and help manufacturers decide which one is best for their operations. Another advantage of partnering with Thomas and the Compu-Coat program is future upgrades. Our coater controls can be updated when new upgrades become available.
These advances are one of the ways Thomas maintains the quality of the coating process and keeps our equipment on the cutting edge of technology. Consistent productivity is vital to tablet manufacturing. We design our systems to be easily upgradeable to eliminate any chance of disruption in day-to-day operations.
Tablet Coating Equipment Qualification for Validation of Manufacturing Operations
We take quality seriously. Our six decades in tablet coating have taught us how much it matters to get things right the first time. This dedication to quality is why we provide multiple qualification services for the equipment we sell. All of them are intended to ensure our coating systems deliver the performance we promised. We stand behind the quality of our tablet coaters, and these services are the first steps in guaranteeing that.
F.A.T. (Factory Acceptance Testing): We perform these tests at the Hoffman Estates, Thomas Processing location, to review, run, and pre-test all equipment before we ship it to the client’s facility.
S.A.T. (Site Acceptance Testing): These qualifications are performed onsite with the client to guarantee the functionality of the system after it’s installed.
Installation Qualification (IQ): This testing includes documented verification that the hardware installation process and results comply with applicable codes and regulations for the pharmaceutical industry.
Operational Qualification (OQ): This qualification includes documented verification that the system or subsystem performs as intended throughout representative or anticipated operating ranges.
Technical Processing Equipment Training From the Experts
One of the reasons Thomas has seen success and such a long life as a company is because we do not leave clients behind after we’ve sold them our equipment. We see our partnership as an ongoing relationship that continues throughout the lifecycle of our machinery. This commitment is why we provide in-person operator training.
We offer targeted training courses conducted onsite, and on the specific equipment the employee will be using. We include the course materials ourselves and offer anywhere from two to five-day training courses. When manufacturers partner with Thomas Processing, they’ve got an ally in their success.
